An "Unaccompanied Alien Child" from the Border
My name is Milton Reyes and I give thanks to God for bringing to this country. When I lived in El Salvador my family was not Christian, therefore neither was I, but when I moved to my aunt Sonia’s I started learning about leading a Christian life. Because of the suffering I have seen and experienced in my country, I see the difference being Christian makes in one's life. I left El Salvador because of the violence, and I give thanks to God for bringing me to the US. I believe that the Lord put you all (CIR) in my life to help me, and I now wish to live a Christian life. I wish to be a servant of the Lord because I am so grateful and thankful to God and Centro Internacional for helping me. You all (CIR) are my earthly angels that God purposely sent to help me, may God bless you. -Milton Reyes
My name is Sonia I Guerrero (Legal Permanent Resident) and I am Milton Reyes’ aunt. It was a year ago when I first received the call from immigration to see if I would take in my nephew Milton. At the time I was a single hard-working mother, but I knew that he was coming from my home country of El Salvador where young boys like him were being robbed of their lives. I decided to take him in without giving much thought to the process that we would have to go through in order to allow him to stay legally here in the US, but had faith in God that he would help me. As as Christian and servant to the Lord, I prayed with all of the my strength, that God would send earthly angels to help me be able to go through the law process. I am now so thankful to the Lord for people at CIR who have been the angels that I that asked God to send.
